A Message From Our President & CEO

Posted By: Sabeen Perwaiz FNA News,

Dear FNA Members,

Over the past several months, we’ve had the privilege of connecting with many of you during our statewide tour. In those conversations, we’ve emphasized the importance of strengthening internal infrastructure and investing in organizational health as essential to meeting this moment.

We want you to know that Florida Nonprofit Alliance is taking this message to heart as well.

From June 29 through July 3, our team will be taking a Reset Week. During this time, our office will be closed to the public so we can focus inward, clearing out outdated systems, organizing our work, and strengthening the foundation that supports our mission. This includes cleaning up old emails, refreshing our website, building our Asana workflows, and dedicating time each day to strategy around the key issues facing our sector.

These are not small tasks, but they are deeply important and ensure we can follow through on our commitments to you and the communities we serve.

We hope you will consider this as a model for your own organization. Whether it’s a full week, a day, or even a half day, creating intentional time to reset and invest in your internal capacity is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

This moment of preparation is especially meaningful for me personally, as I will be on sabbatical from July 20 through September 7. This is a generous gift from our Board of Directors, and one I am profoundly grateful for. I will be fully stepping away during this time to rest and recharge, with complete confidence in our strong and capable FNA team.

If it would be helpful as you think about implementing a reset period or exploring sabbatical policies for your leadership, I would be more than happy to talk with you or your board.

Thank you for all you are doing every day to strengthen Florida’s nonprofit sector.

With appreciation,
Sabeen
