Florida Nonprofit Alliance (FNA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2026 Florida Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Survey Report, the first comprehensive, statewide study of compensation and benefits practices in Florida's nonprofit sector.

Developed in partnership with organizations across the state and research firm PeriscopeIQ, the report draws on responses from 395 nonprofit organizations across 35 Florida counties, providing insight into how nonprofits compensate employees, structure benefits, and address workforce challenges.

The report is accompanied by an interactive compensation dashboard that allows organizations and jobseekers to explore salary data across positions, organizational sizes, and geographic areas.

Key Findings

Compensation remains the greatest recruitment challenge. Among organizations struggling to hire, 70% cited an inability to match candidates' salary expectations. Pay was also the most frequently identified reason positions were difficult to fill or retain.

Most nonprofits are increasing employee salaries. More than 82% of respondents provided salary increases in 2025, and the median anticipated increase over the next 12 months is 3%.

Employee benefits remain a priority. Approximately 75% of participating organizations offer medical benefits, while 68% provide retirement plans. More than a quarter reported improving their benefits packages over the previous year.

Flexible work arrangements are widespread. Nearly 62% of respondents offer hybrid work arrangements, and 93% do not anticipate requiring remote or hybrid employees to return fully in person within the next year.

Leadership transitions present an ongoing challenge. Approximately 18% of organizations experienced a CEO transition during the previous two years, with another 7% anticipating a transition in the coming year. Yet fewer than half (43%) have a formal succession plan.
