The United States Congress is comprised of the Senate and House of Representatives.

In the U.S. Senate, Florida, like other states, has two senators (six-year term, no term limit). 

In the U.S. House of Representatives, Florida holds 28 of 435 seats (two-year term, no term limit), based on state population and U.S. Census counts taken every 10 years.


At the state level, Florida has 40 senators (four-year term, two term limit) and 120 representatives (two-year term, four term limit).

Each of the 67 counties and hundreds of municipalities across the state also have elected legislative bodies.  These can include, but are not limited to, County Commissions, City or Town Councils, County School Boards, and Soil and Water District Boards.  The best way to find your local legislative bodies is to go to the websites of your county, city, town, or other municipalities.  If you have trouble locating your local elected officials, please contact us.
