Statewide and in Jacksonville area, residents support charities, not necessarily with large donation

The survey results give nonprofits direction for their funding appeals, which should focus on potential donors of all income levels and ages.

 

A recent survey of Floridians’ individual giving habits showed most residents donate to charitable causes and research those causes before they donate. Most of the 3,782 people surveyed tend to make small donations — less than $1,000 — and give within Florida, even if they hailed from another state, according to the report commissioned by the Florida Nonprofit Alliance, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Wells Fargo. Read more here.
